A personal trainer cover letter built on retention rather than enthusiasm
One personal trainer cover letter, printed exactly as the builder wrote it. The trainer and the gym are invented. The selection and the gap came out of the product.
— fifty-four per cent to seventy-eight. a gym runs on that number.

Gym managers read applications from people who are all enthusiastic about fitness, and they are hiring somebody who can keep a book alive through a wet January. Rafael Ombersley is invented, Stonefell Gym is invented, and so are both of his employers. The letter is real output: the evidence below was handed to the cover letter builder and the reply is printed word for word.
The site, and the evidence the letter may use
An invented person. Not a real document, and not yours.

The letter the builder wrote
Direct voice, the one the door opens with. Three of the eight paragraphs are Rafael's own sentences.
Dear Stonefell Gym Hiring Team,
I'm applying for the Personal Trainer role at Stonefell Gym.
Improved customer retention on the personal training book from 54% to 78%.
Built a book of 42 regular clients from 9 over three years.
Ran 6 group fitness classes a week with an average of 18 attendees.
The posting asks for Customer Retention — all of which I've worked with directly.
I'd welcome the chance to talk through any of this.
Rafael Ombersley
Where each paragraph came from
Lines 6, 5 and 7 of the evidence list. The retention line matched the one requirement the matcher recognised and evidenced, so it led. The book line and the classes line went in on their figures. Two requirements were recognised in the whole advertisement, which is normal for this trade: programme design, assessments and strength and conditioning are all invisible to the matcher.
The sessions line, 340 a year at 94% attendance, stayed out and it is the closest thing a trainer has to a reliability statement. It is one click from the letter on the Details step. Tailoring a letter to the posting covers the judgment.
What it refused to claim
One gap: rehabilitation. The posting asks for work alongside a physiotherapist and Rafael's lines never mention it. This is a real gap rather than a wording problem, and it is the most useful kind to be handed, because it tells you what the interview will open with. The gaps list is the interview.
No language model is involved. Selection is deterministic code over his own lines, and the reply says so in its own payload.
What a personal training letter has to prove
Book, retention and floor. Book is how many regular clients you hold and where it started, because a gym is buying revenue it does not have to find. Retention is the percentage across a year, which is the only number that separates a trainer from a salesperson. Floor is the group classes and the attendance, since that is what you do between sessions.
Certifications belong in the document rather than in the letter, unless the advertisement makes one a condition. Certifications on a document covers where they sit.
The same evidence in the other two voices
Three voices ship with the builder, and changing one rewrites the connectors rather than the evidence. The ranking never sees the voice, so the same lines are selected in the same order in all three. Run on this page's own evidence, the warm voice opens "I'd like to be considered for the Personal Trainer role at Stonefell Gym." and closes "I'd be glad to walk through any of this with you." The formal voice opens "I am writing to apply for the position of Personal Trainer at Stonefell Gym." and closes "I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my application further." The middle connector changes with it: warm writes "You mention Customer Retention; those have been the centre of my recent work." and formal writes "The role calls for Customer Retention, each of which I have applied in practice." In the product, switching voice keeps the draft you already have as a version before it writes the new one, so nothing is lost by trying the other two.
The design, and what the door does
Signature leads with the closing, which suits a letter whose last line is an invitation to meet. The paper changes and the words do not, across all 12 designs in the gallery.
The door below opens 02 · Details with the role, the gym, the posting and the four evidence groups loaded and removable. Nothing is composed until you press Write the letter. Put your own book and retention in, paste the real advertisement, and the same ranking runs on your lines. The matching personal trainer résumé example holds the document those lines come from.

- Is Rafael Ombersley a real person
- No. He is invented for this page, and so are Stonefell Gym, Harrowdene Fitness and Calderloch Leisure. No real client is described and no hire is claimed.
- Did the product really write this letter
- Yes. The evidence list was posted to the same endpoint the Write the letter button posts to, and the reply is printed above unchanged. The engine reported three selected paragraphs, one matched requirement and one gap.
- Why is rehabilitation a gap
- Because the posting names rehabilitation work alongside a physiotherapist and nothing in the evidence mentions it. It is a real gap rather than a vocabulary problem, and the honest answer at interview is what you do and do not do with an injured client.
- Why did the engine only recognise two requirements
- Its skills list holds customer retention and rehabilitation from this advertisement, and not programme design, group fitness, assessments or strength and conditioning. The two remaining paragraphs were selected on their figures.
- What does “Use this example” do
- It opens the cover letter builder on 02 · Details with the role, the gym, the posting and the four evidence groups already loaded. No letter and no application record exists until you press Write the letter.
- Which design is this example in
- Signature, a closing-led composition. Any of the 12 designs carries the same words.
Conxfolio is a free set of four career tools: a résumé builder with 37 rendered layouts, an ATS résumé checker that prints its own arithmetic, a cover letter builder that traces every proof paragraph back to the line it came from, and a portfolio builder with 20 authored designs. There is no account to create, nothing is held back for a paid plan, and no language model is used anywhere in the product, so the readers, the score and the letter are deterministic code you can check.
