Privacy
Conxfolio is built so that we hold as little about you as possible. You need no account and no email to use it.
Who is responsible
Vamsi Venkatesh, Magdeburg, Germany. Email: [email protected]. Full details are in the Impressum.
Your documents stay in your browser
Résumés, cover letters, ATS checks and portfolio drafts are saved in the browser you use. We do not store them. To use your work on another device, download your workspace as a file and open it there.
Reading a résumé and making a PDF
To sort an uploaded résumé into sections, its text is sent to our server, read and sent back. To make a PDF, the résumé's content is sent to our server, turned into a PDF and sent back. We keep neither. Word files are made in your browser.
Previewing a portfolio before you publish
While you build a portfolio, its content is held on our server so the preview can show it. It is deleted when you publish; otherwise it expires after 7 days and is removed.
Publishing a portfolio
The page you publish is stored on our server, and anyone can open it at its address. We do not ask for your email. Instead you get an edit key and a recovery code; we keep only a scrambled fingerprint of each, which cannot be turned back into the key. We count visits to your page per day, without storing who visited. We keep your last five published versions so you can undo a change.
Recovery email, only if you add one
If you choose to add a recovery email, we keep it to send you a new edit key when you ask, and to tell you when your page is published, its key is changed or it is recovered. You can remove it at any time under My page.
Who helps us
Our server is run by Contabo GmbH in Germany. Messages to a recovery email are sent from [email protected] through Zoho Mail, from its EU data centre.
Protection from abuse
To limit abuse, for example someone guessing edit keys, we count requests per network address for a few minutes. This happens in memory only; the address is not stored.
Legal basis
We publish your page and send the messages you ask for because you ask us to (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We protect the service from abuse and count visits in our legitimate interest in running it safely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A recovery email is kept only with your consent, which you withdraw by removing it (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Your rights
Under My page you can download everything we hold about your page (Download my data) and delete it (Delete my page). You also have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection; write to [email protected]. You may complain to a data protection authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Sachsen-Anhalt.
