The ATS score is Parseability × 30% + Completeness × 30% + Content × 40%, and the report prints that sum with your numbers in it. Every check is marked Passed or Review with the reason, so you can see which fix is worth the most. Correct the text and check again; earlier checks are kept with their scores on this device.

Have a job description? Open Job match on the report and paste it. The match lists the required and preferred skills the posting asks for, which ones a line of your résumé shows and which it does not, your years against the years asked, the degree and the job title, with the arithmetic behind the match rate. The ATS score does not change.

How the free ATS résumé checker works

2. Check what was read — The review lists the roles, degrees and skills found. Press Confirm & run check.
3. Read the score and every check — See Parseability, Completeness and Content with the arithmetic, and each check marked Passed or Review with its reason.
4. Compare with a job description — Open Job match, paste the posting and see which required skills your résumé shows, with the line, and which it does not.
5. Fix and check again — Correct the text, run the check again and compare with your earlier scores under Previous checks.

Is this ATS résumé checker free, without login?

Yes. There is no sign up, no login and no payment, and no limit on how many times you check.

How is the ATS score calculated?

Parseability × 30% + Completeness × 30% + Content × 40%. Parseability asks whether the text comes out in order; completeness checks eight essentials such as contact details, experience, education, skills and a date on every role; content grades your achievement lines. The report prints the sum with your numbers, and says so when a ceiling limits the score.

Do I need a job description?

No. The ATS score reads your résumé on its own. If you have a posting, paste it under Job match after the check to see a separate match rate.

Can I check my résumé against a job description?

Yes. After the check, open Job match and paste the posting. It lists the required and preferred skills it read, which ones your résumé shows (with the line) and which it does not, your years against the years asked, the degree and the job title, and prints the arithmetic behind the match rate.

Which files can I check?

PDF, Word (.docx and older .doc), OpenDocument (.odt), plain text, Markdown and RTF, and images such as a scan or a photo, which are read by text recognition in your browser. You can also paste the text.

Why is my ATS score low?

Usually because a section could not be found (no dated roles, no education, no contact details) or because there are few achievement lines with results in them. Each check marked Review says what it found and what it needs.

Can I correct what the checker read?

Yes. Use Correct text on the report, then check again.

Is this the same as an employer's ATS?

No. It is our own published rule set. Employers use many different systems, and no checker can predict what a particular one does or whether you will be hired.

What happens to the text I check?

Your work is kept in this browser. A file you import is read here first, and only the text it contains is sent to be sorted into fields — if this browser cannot read the file, the file itself is sent instead. The text of a résumé or a letter is sent to our server when you run the ATS check, ask for a draft, or export a PDF.
