01 Fold · the résumé

Build a résumé, or bring the one you already have.

The résumé builder reads an existing file into editable fields, shows you everything it found before it enters the editor, and renders the page you are actually going to send.

Importing is the fast way in. Drop a PDF, DOCX or text résumé and the review lists every field that was read — name, contact details, each role, each bullet, skills and education — beside the text it came from. You correct it there. Nothing is written for you, and a field it could not read stays empty rather than being filled with a guess.

Then the paper. There are 37 layouts, each one rendered by the same engine that renders your finished résumé, so the card you pick is the page you get. Sections can be reordered or hidden, the design controls change type and spacing, and the preview updates as you type.

A résumé is rarely sent once. Keep one master résumé and save a version for a particular job, restore an earlier version when you change your mind, and export to PDF or DOCX at any point. The ATS check and the cover letter builder read this same résumé, so a fix made here is a fix everywhere.

How it works

  1. Start — Import a PDF, DOCX or text résumé, or begin from scratch.
  2. Review — Every extracted field is shown beside its source text. Correct it before it enters the editor.
  3. Design — Choose one of 37 rendered layouts, then set type, spacing and colour. /resume-designs
  4. Editor — Write and reorder sections while the paper updates beside you. Save versions.
  5. Export — Download PDF or DOCX, then check it or write a letter from it.

The builder does not invent work history. Every line on the page is one you wrote or imported, and an empty field stays empty.

Questions

Which files can I import?
PDF, DOCX and plain text. A password-protected PDF is unlocked in this browser after you type the password.
Is the export really free?
Yes. PDF and DOCX export are free and there is no watermark.
Can I keep more than one résumé?
Yes. Keep a master résumé and save targeted versions beside it. An earlier version can be restored.
Will my imported résumé be changed without me seeing it?
No. The import review shows every field that was read before anything enters the editor, and you correct it there.
Can I change the design after writing?
Yes. The 37 layouts are a rendering choice, not a rewrite — your words do not change when the design does.
Where is my résumé stored?
Your work is kept in this browser. A file you import is read here first, and only the text it contains is sent to be sorted into fields — if this browser cannot read the file, the file itself is sent instead. The text of a résumé or a letter is sent to our server when you run the ATS check, ask for a draft, or export a PDF.
