A cashier résumé example, and why the till record matters
One complete cashier résumé, written out in full. The person is invented. The reading and the score come from the product itself.
— customers a shift, takings, shortages. that is a record.

Till work is the job most often written as a single line on a résumé, and it is the one where a manager most needs a reason to choose one applicant over forty. This example is written out in full so you can read what that reason looks like, then put through the tools here so you can see what a parser takes from it. The candidate is invented. Dorota Kettleburn-Ajayi does not exist, neither employer exists, and every figure was chosen to demonstrate a shape.

Four hundred customers a shift is a fact
Four hundred customers a shift across tills and eight self-service points. Takings of GBP 9 000 a shift with no till shortages in twelve months. Those two lines describe accuracy under volume, which is the entire job and is almost never written down.
The shortage record is the important half. Anybody can serve customers; a store manager is choosing between people who can and cannot be trusted with a drawer, and only one of those is stated on most applications.
The lines beyond the till are the promotion lines
Training nine new assistants on the till, age-restricted sales and refunds. Covering the customer service desk for 200 refunds and collections a week. Checking thirty deliveries a week and reporting forty discrepancies for credit.
Each of those is something a supervisor asked this person to do because the till work was reliable. On a page for a supervisor's job, those three lines are the application.
What the reading found
The door below hands the document to the résumé builder as plain text, through the same import an uploaded file goes through, and the review shows each field beside the line it came from. Here the completeness pass found four readable sections, 106 words of experience evidence and ten distinct skills, with two languages in their own section.
No language model is involved. The readers are deterministic and every string they emit is checked in code to be a span of the document, which matters most on a short page where a dropped line is a quarter of the evidence.
What the checker scored it
Ninety-seven out of 100, with one improvement remaining worth 8 points. The arithmetic is 100 × 30% + 100 × 30% + 92 × 40% = 97, explained in the article on the score. Seven action-led lines, four of them measurable, seven lines of depth, and 186 readable words against a band opening at 250.
A four-year retail career scoring 97 is worth sitting with. The content rules reward evidence rather than seniority, so a well-written cashier's page scores within three points of a director's. The ATS checker applies the same arithmetic to both.
What this example leaves off
No photograph, no list of personal qualities and no reference details. A store manager is reading for the customer volume, the takings and the shortage record, and each additional element pushes those down the page.
Every short assignment is left off as well. Two solid roles with real figures beat six three-month placements listed in full, and where the short roles matter they can be grouped under one line with honest dates.
What to change for your own
Change the store type. Supermarket, convenience, department store, pharmacy counter and petrol forecourt all use this shape with different responsibilities. Then put in your own customer counts, takings, shortage record and the tasks you were trusted with.
Keep the languages if you have them, because in a mixed neighbourhood a manager reads that line as a service improvement. The design gallery holds 37 layouts, and the retail manager example, the waiter example and the bartender example show where this shape leads.

Use this exampleCheck a résumé insteadQuestions
- Is Dorota Kettleburn-Ajayi a real person
- No. She is invented for this page, and so are Marlstone Food Market and Byerly Convenience Stores. The figures show a shape and describe nobody.
- What is worth saying on a cashier's résumé
- Customers a shift, takings handled, till shortages, and what you were trusted with beyond the till. Those four turn a job everybody assumes they understand into a record.
- Is a zero shortage claim credible
- Bounded, yes. No till shortages in twelve months names the period and matches what a store actually records, which is why it reads as a fact rather than a boast.
- What did the checker score it
- 97 out of 100, with one improvement remaining worth 8 points. The document has 186 readable words, and the volume rule's top band opens at 250.
- Should age-restricted sales be mentioned
- Yes, in the skills row. It is a legal responsibility a store manager has to be able to trust, and it is a filter term in a great many retail postings.
- Which design is this rendered in
- Minimal, one of the 21 ATS-safe layouts out of 37. A short page reads better with a quiet layout than with a busy one.
Conxfolio is a free set of four career tools: a résumé builder with 37 rendered layouts, an ATS résumé checker that prints its own arithmetic, a cover letter builder that traces every proof paragraph back to the line it came from, and a portfolio builder with 20 authored designs. There is no account to create, nothing is held back for a paid plan, and no language model is used anywhere in the product, so the readers, the score and the letter are deterministic code you can check.
