Mistakes that sink a bookkeeper cover letter
The first is software without tasks. The second is ignoring deadlines, which small businesses care about most. The third is leaving out any licence or qualification.

What it refused to claim
One gap came back with this letter: Tax Returns. The posting names them. Ottavia's evidence, eleven years of ledgers, never mentions VAT or a return once, so the letter says nothing about either and names the gap in one factual sentence. Reading your own gaps list is the habit that catches an omission like this before a hiring manager does.
What a bookkeeping letter has to prove
Volume, cleanliness and cash. Volume is invoices a month and staff on payroll. Cleanliness is the reconciliation record, because an owner is buying the absence of surprises. Cash is debtor days, which is the number that decides whether a workshop can pay for timber in March.
