A bookkeeper résumé example, in clients, payroll and year ends

One complete bookkeeper résumé, written out in full. The person is invented. The reading and the score come from the product itself.

— clients, payroll headcount, submissions on time.

Bookkeeping is judged on whether the books are right and the deadlines were met, and both of those are countable. This example is written out in full so you can read the counted version, then put through the tools here so you can see what a parser stores. The candidate is invented. Hyacinth Delacroix-Mwangi does not exist, neither employer exists, and every figure was chosen to demonstrate a shape.

Clients, payroll, deadlines

Twenty-six clients with turnover from GBP 80 000 to GBP 4 million. Payroll for 340 employees a month across eighteen clients with no late submissions in three years. A bank reconciliation backlog of 2 000 items cleared for three inherited clients.

The range on the client turnover is the useful part. A bookkeeper who handles a four million pound business and an eighty thousand pound one is describing a range of complexity, and a practice manager is hiring against exactly that range.

The charity block is a second specialism

Nine restricted funds, forty grant claims a year, four annual accounts files prepared for independent examination. Charity bookkeeping has its own rules and its own vocabulary, and keeping that role visible makes this candidate the obvious choice for any practice with charity clients.

The system consolidation line is the commercial one: year end preparation down 34% after fourteen clients moved onto one system. That is a saving the practice feels every January.

Why this one is on a side-column design

Sidebar is one of the 37 layouts and it is not among the 21 marked ATS-safe, because a side column is exactly the pattern the parseability rule warns about: a document that reads top to bottom on paper and left to right in an extracted text layer can end up with the skills interleaved through the experience.

It was chosen here on purpose, so the page can say plainly what the trade is. The ATS checker measures the document rather than the label, and if you want a side column the responsible move is to check the export rather than to assume.

What the reading found

The door on this page hands the document to the résumé builder as plain text, through the same import an uploaded file goes through, and the review shows each field beside the line it came from. Here the completeness pass found four readable sections, 110 words of experience evidence and ten distinct skills, with the licence kept as a certification and its year preserved.

The real import review, opened by this page's own door. It names Hyacinth Delacroix-Mwangi as invented before anything is saved, and it shows every field beside the line it came from.

No language model is involved, and nothing is rewritten. Every string a reader emits is checked in code to be a span of the document it read.

What the checker scored it

The same import review on a 390 pixel phone screen, with the example notice above the accept button
The same door on a phone. Nothing is withheld on the small screen: the notice, the reading and the accept button are all there.

Ninety-seven out of 100, with one improvement remaining worth 8 points. The arithmetic is 100 × 30% + 100 × 30% + 92 × 40% = 97, explained in the article on the score. Seven action-led lines, four of them measurable, seven lines of depth, and 189 readable words against a band opening at 250.

Parseability is full at 100 on the text of this document, and that is all it says. The score is taken on what a person would paste, not on an exported Sidebar page, so it is not evidence that a side column survives extraction. To settle that, export the PDF from the résumé builder and put the exported file back through the checker. If the two scores differ, the layout is the difference.

What to change for your own

Change the client base. Practice bookkeeping, in-house, construction industry scheme work and charity finance all use this shape with different compliance calendars. Then put in your own client counts, turnover ranges, payroll headcount and submission record.

Keep the licence with its year. The guide on certifications covers placement, the design gallery holds 37 layouts, and the accountant example, the translator example and the teaching assistant example sit beside this one.

Questions

Is Hyacinth Delacroix-Mwangi a real bookkeeper
No. She is invented for this page, and so are Tallowbridge Accountancy Services and Stapleford Community Trust. The figures show a shape and describe nobody.
What is the most useful bookkeeping figure
Client count with a turnover range. Twenty-six clients from GBP 80 000 to GBP 4 million tells a practice manager the complexity you are used to, which a client count alone does not.
Are payroll submissions worth a line
They are the compliance line. Three hundred and forty employees a month across eighteen clients with no late submissions in three years is exactly what a practice is afraid of getting wrong.
What did the checker score it
97 out of 100, with one improvement remaining worth 8 points. The document has 189 readable words, and the volume rule's top band opens at 250.
Is charity work a different job
Different enough to be worth its own role. Restricted funds, grant claims and independent examination are vocabulary a charity client will look for, and a bookkeeper who has done it is not easy to find.
Which design is this rendered in
Sidebar, one of the 37 layouts and not one of the 21 marked ATS-safe, because a side column is the layout most likely to be reordered in extraction. It is a deliberate demonstration and the section below explains it.

Conxfolio is a free set of four career tools: a résumé builder with 37 rendered layouts, an ATS résumé checker that prints its own arithmetic, a cover letter builder that traces every proof paragraph back to the line it came from, and a portfolio builder with 20 authored designs. There is no account to create, nothing is held back for a paid plan, and no language model is used anywhere in the product, so the readers, the score and the letter are deterministic code you can check.
