A marketing manager résumé example, and the numbers behind it

One complete marketing manager résumé, written out in full. The person is invented. The reading and the score come from the product itself.

— growth without a cost figure is a press release.

Marketing is the easiest profession to write vaguely about and one of the easiest to measure. This example is written out in full so you can read the lines, then put through the tools here so you can see what a parser stores and what a scorer counts. The candidate is invented. Priya Ravensworth does not exist, neither employer exists, and every figure was chosen to demonstrate a shape.

Every growth line carries its cost

Subscriptions from 4 200 to 11 800 in thirty months, at a stable acquisition cost. The second half of that sentence is what makes the first half mean anything, and it is the half most candidates drop. Growth bought at any price is a budget, and a marketing manager is hired to know the difference.

The same discipline runs through the rest: cost per acquisition down 34% by retiring six channels, return on ad spend up 52% after a rebuild, second-order rate from 31% to 47%. Eight of the eleven lines carry a measurable figure, and none of them is a vanity count of impressions.

Budget and headcount are not bragging

A team of four and an annual budget of AUD 1.6 million is scope, and scope is the first filter a hiring manager applies. Leaving it out does not read as modesty; it reads as a candidate who has not run either. The agency line does similar work from the other direction, since cutting retained fees by EUR 96 000 a year with no loss of output is a management result rather than a marketing one.

Where a figure is confidential, change the unit. Percentages, multiples and rates carry the shape of a result without publishing a former employer's revenue, and the guide on quantifying achievements goes through the substitutions.

What the reading found

The door on this page hands the example to the résumé builder as plain text, through the same import an uploaded file goes through, and the review screen shows each field beside the line it came from. Here the completeness pass found four readable sections, 188 words of experience evidence and ten distinct skills.

The Conxfolio import review after the door opened, showing Priya Ravensworth's example read into fields beside the rendered page, with the line saying it is an example
The real import review, opened by this page's own door. It names Priya Ravensworth as invented before anything is saved, and it shows every field beside the line it came from.

Nothing in that reading uses a language model. Each reader is deterministic, every string it emits is checked in code to be a span of the document, and a field that fails the check is dropped and counted instead of being kept on a guess.

What the checker scored it

The same import review on a 390 pixel phone screen, with the example notice above the accept button
The same door on a phone. Nothing is withheld on the small screen: the notice, the reading and the accept button are all there.

One hundred out of 100, with nothing remaining. The arithmetic is 100 × 30% + 100 × 30% + 100 × 40%, set out in the article on the score. Content took its full forty on eleven action-led lines, eight measurable achievements, eleven lines of depth and 259 readable words.

That last figure is the one to watch when you cut a marketing résumé down. The volume band opens at 250 readable words, and a page trimmed to a tight half-side of highlights can lose eight points without losing a single fact. The ATS checker prints the count it used, so the trade is visible rather than mysterious.

What this example leaves off

No channel logos, no agency names, no campaign titles and no list of certifications from platform vendors. Campaign names mean nothing outside the company that ran them, and a page of them reads as a portfolio index rather than a record of results.

Impressions, reach and follower counts are left off too. They move with budget rather than with judgement, and a hiring manager who has run a budget knows it. Where a vanity number is the only one you have, say what it cost and what happened next, which turns it back into evidence.

What to change for your own

Start with the channel mix. Business-to-business demand generation, retail brand and product marketing all share this structure and use different vocabulary, and a posting will tell you which words it wants. Then attach a cost, a rate or a duration to every growth claim you make.

Keep the team size and the budget. Keep the skills row to ten tools you would be happy to be tested on. The design gallery holds 37 layouts, and the sales representative example, the customer service example and the project manager example show the same shape in the neighbouring jobs.

Questions

Is Priya Ravensworth a real person
No. She is invented for this page, and so are Fernquill Coffee Co and Ashcombe Outdoor. Every figure was written to show a shape and describes nobody's career.
Are growth numbers safe to publish
Ranges and rates usually are; absolute revenue often is not, and a former employer may treat it as confidential. The example uses subscriber counts, cost per acquisition and rate changes, which make the same point without handing over a P and L.
What did the checker score it
100 out of 100, with nothing open. Eleven action-led lines, eight of them measurable, eleven lines of depth and 259 readable words, which clears the volume band at 250.
Should the marketing executive role stay
Yes, at two lines. It shows where the channel work started, and the segmentation line is the kind of early contribution that still exists years later.
Is a portfolio of campaigns useful
For brand and content roles, yes. Link it as a plain address in the contact row so it survives extraction, and keep the résumé lines about outcomes rather than screenshots.
Which design is this rendered in
Launch, one of the 21 ATS-safe layouts out of 37. It gives the summary room at the top, which suits a page whose first two sentences have to place the candidate in a market.

Conxfolio is a free set of four career tools: a résumé builder with 37 rendered layouts, an ATS résumé checker that prints its own arithmetic, a cover letter builder that traces every proof paragraph back to the line it came from, and a portfolio builder with 20 authored designs. There is no account to create, nothing is held back for a paid plan, and no language model is used anywhere in the product, so the readers, the score and the letter are deterministic code you can check.
