A financial analyst résumé example, and the assumptions behind it
One complete financial analyst résumé, written out in full. The person is invented. The reading and the score come from the product itself.
— a model nobody refreshes is a spreadsheet.

Financial analysts write the most numerate documents in a company and often the least numerate résumé in the pile. This example is written out in full so you can read what a numerate one looks like, then put through the tools here so you can see what software takes from it. The candidate is invented. Beatriz Halloran-Quist does not exist, neither employer exists, and every figure was chosen to demonstrate a shape.

A model is described by what it changed
A three-year forecast for five business units, refreshed in six hours rather than four days. Forecast accuracy from 86% to 94% across eight quarters. Nine pricing scenarios that produced a 6% gross margin increase. Each of those describes a model by its consequence, which is the only description a hiring manager can use.
The duplicated spend line is the other kind of analyst evidence: EUR 280 000 found across three systems. Finding money is the most quoted line in any analyst's interview, and it belongs on the page in plain words.
The assumption register is the professional line
Rewriting the assumption register is unglamorous and it is what made the accuracy move. Naming the mechanism beside the result tells a finance director that the improvement was engineered rather than lucky.
Board work is worth one line and no more: twelve packs a year, four presented. Presenting is a different skill from preparing, and the count separates them honestly.
What the reading found
The door below hands the document to the résumé builder as plain text, through the same import an uploaded file goes through, and the review shows every field beside the line it came from. Here the completeness pass found four readable sections, 108 words of experience evidence and ten distinct skills, with three languages in their own section.
Nothing in that reading involves a language model. Every string a reader emits is checked in code to be a span of your document, so a figure cannot be rounded and an employer cannot be renamed.
What the checker scored it
Ninety-seven out of 100, with one improvement remaining worth 8 points. The arithmetic is 100 × 30% + 100 × 30% + 92 × 40% = 97, explained in the article on the score. Seven experience lines, six of which the rules read as action-led, four carrying measurable evidence, and 179 readable words against a band opening at 250.
The gap between seven lines and six action-led ones is worth knowing about. The rule reads a line as action-led when it opens with a past-tense achievement verb, so a line that begins with a noun phrase is counted as evidence but not as an achievement. The ATS checker reports both counts, which is how you find the sentence that starts in the wrong place.
What this example leaves off
No spreadsheet function lists, no named financial models and no confidential revenue. A finance director assumes the functions, would not recognise your internal model name, and would be uncomfortable seeing a former employer's revenue on a page.
Course lists are left off too. A finance qualification with a year is worth more than five short courses, and a page that leads with training is usually a page with too little experience to lead with instead.
What to change for your own
Change the sector and the reporting cycle. Corporate finance, FP&A, treasury and investment analysis all use this shape with different vocabulary. Then attach a decision to every model you name, and a period to every accuracy claim.
Keep the languages if you work across markets. Keep the systems in the skills row. The guide on quantifying achievements covers figures you may not publish, the design gallery holds 37 layouts, and the accountant example, the operations manager example and the social worker example show the same structure elsewhere.

- Is Beatriz Halloran-Quist a real person
- No. She is invented for this page, and so are Aveiro Cortex Systems and Marnhoa Industries. The figures show a shape and describe nobody.
- Is forecast accuracy a fair thing to claim
- If it was measured and you can say how, yes. Accuracy from 86% to 94% over eight quarters names the period, which is what makes it checkable rather than decorative.
- How much modelling detail belongs on the page
- The scale and the decision. Nine pricing scenarios leading to a 6% gross margin increase is a model with a consequence, which is the only kind worth a line.
- What did the checker score it
- 97 out of 100, with one improvement remaining worth 8 points. The document has 179 readable words, and the volume rule's top band opens at 250.
- Should I name the systems I model in
- Yes, in the skills row. Excel, SQL and the reporting tool are filter terms and they cost one line. The experience lines should stay about what the models decided.
- Which design is this rendered in
- Classic, one of the 21 ATS-safe layouts out of 37. It is the plainest serif page in the gallery and it extracts cleanly, which is what a finance application portal wants.
Conxfolio is a free set of four career tools: a résumé builder with 37 rendered layouts, an ATS résumé checker that prints its own arithmetic, a cover letter builder that traces every proof paragraph back to the line it came from, and a portfolio builder with 20 authored designs. There is no account to create, nothing is held back for a paid plan, and no language model is used anywhere in the product, so the readers, the score and the letter are deterministic code you can check.
